Can't believe she's already 5 months and counting! She's such a happy kid in the mornings.
She's still sleeping in her Moses basket, but taking naps in her crib. She loves pushing all the way up the top of the basket and rubbing her head and arms all over the soft "minky" fabric. This is what her hair looks like in the morning after rubbing it all around the basket:
Yep. One huge big old knot that I have to comb out each and every morning.
You may remember the gorgeous bumpers that I was sewing for her. She wanted none of it. Minky fabric was all she'd accept so luckily I met my lovely inlaws for lunch by PBKids one day, and they happened to have a gingham/minky bumper on clearance for dirt cheap. Heaven sent. She sleeps with her face pressed against it and strokes it until she falls to sleep (she's completely out in the pic above).
This is how she was sleeping with no bumpers at all; and I was kind of worried she'd twist an arm. (sound asleep in this photo too).

Happy 5 months! I can remember just reading about your birth - the time really does fly! See you on 6-12 soon!
Your Penny is aborable. And you can NEVER take too many pictures. I love love love the wall flower shot. That is priceless. You have such an amazing way of capturing the softness and peacefulness of babies.
She is such a beautiful girl. We miss you guys.
Beautiful pictures! What kind of camera do you use?? How fun! Time goes quickly--take lots of pictures! I can't believe that my Sammy boy is almost 4! Yowzers!
She's so beautiful!
She just keeps getting cuter and cuter. I have been thinking about putting Elizabeth's bumpers back on too, but she puts her feet & legs out rather than her hands & arms. I still worry she'll get stuck & not be able to roll away...but I guess I shouldn't since Penny seems to be fine!
awww...she is absolutely precious, which of course you already know. :-) kaydence is always her happiest in the morning as well. i love all your pictures -- you're such an inspiration and i wish you could show me some tricks with my new camera. :-) as they say, it's the person behind the camera and not the camera itself. i've got lots of work ahead of me. btw, i love the picture of penny and the knot -- poor thing. and the wall flower picture is perfect!
I'm catching up on blogs tonight - I love all of the new pictures!! Isn't it crazy to see how much they grow each month?? I found a video of Charlie at 4 months and was amazed at how little he seemed, now that he's three months older. Penny is such a cute little girl! Beautiful photos.
