Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.And here is a great artist's interpretation of baby. Apparently he's learning yoga:

CONGRATULATIONS!! Girls are great! So did you find out today? Or did you find out last week? So I went shopping this weekend for baby stuff for Saturday, and without even thinking I planned for you to have all girl stuff. Then I read your post on the 13th and thought - what? they haven't found out? what if it's a boy?
I have no idea what i was thinking. I guess the girl vibe was there. :)
I am so thrilled you are having a
